We made it to Fremont in one piece, our minds still intact. Chinni dropped us off at the airport. It was very cold, so we got the girls into the airport first and then everything else. We got there with plenty of time to spare, which was a good thing. The security check was a logistical nightmare;) We had to put all our stuff on the belt first and then we had to put the stroller on the belt, minus girls. IMHO, I think it's a stupid rule. Swapna had to hold both the babies while I dealt with the stroller.
Once we got to the gate we set up shop by the gate, with blankets on the carpet. Both girls were fine, we walked around the airport with them in the stroller and they fell asleep, didn't wake up till we got to the plane and took them out of their stroller. I was worried about them, during takeoff and landing, but we were prepared, pushed pacifiers into their mouths and made sure they kept them there. We made the takeoff with no incidents.
It was a long flight, but both babies did ok. They were fussy for the first hour or so, but then they slept through most of the flight. Shruthi was cool, she had the middle seat and she slept like she owned the plane:)
The whole family came to pick us up. Poor Saket wanted to see the girls but he was asleep by the time we got there. Everyone was tired by the time we got home. Unfortunately, all of us were still on East coast time. Both babies woke up on their regular schedule, 6:30 EST, which is 3:30am PST;)
Great weather in Ca, in the sixties and clear blue skies! Shruthi was fussy the whole day, not her usual self. Either she is not comfortable with all the new people or she is sick. She was crying most of the day, hopefully she will sleep be ok tomorrow.
JetBlue was great, the staff was very friendly and they left the flight was sold out, except for the single seat in our row. Worked great for us, had enough room for all our stuff and one baby(Shruthi:) could sleep comfortably in the middle seat.
